I’m No Longer Reviewing Beer & Here’s Why
Oh, don’t act like you’re upset. You had to know my run would come to an end at some point. And while I’m writing this in March of 2018, I’m pretty sure I’ll still be reviewing Connecticut beers for quite some time yet. In my professional world, we call this sunsetting.
In fact, I may still do hundreds of beer reviews as I slowly wean myself off of this stuff. I honestly don’t know. I do know that I plan to do a longer-form essay each month for the next several months that will sort of capture my thoughts, hopes, and observations of the still growing industry in our state. In between, I’ll continue to write some reviews here and there.
And then that will be that.
So the title of this page should be “I’m Sunsetting…” but I’d hate myself for using a corporate term in such a prominent way. But what that means for newer breweries or newly distributed beers is… I’m out. Not that I won’t be buying and hopefully enjoying more Connecticut (and beyond) beer, just that I stopped taking pictures and seeking out un-reviewed beers as of January 2018.
Personal Bonus: This means I will no longer be buying horrible beer that I know is horrible before buying it just so I can write a “funny” review. It means many other things – more interesting things – which we’ll discuss over the coming weeks and months.
To be clear – I’m not “quitting CT beer” at all! I just feel that my reviews have pretty much run their course. To put it simply, I reached a point where I decided I was done. I haven’t wavered on that decision for a second.
Thanks for reading!
