It angers me that I¹ve seen every single “It¹s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.” Why? Because the show has fallen off so precipitously since its first two seasons that when I watch it now, I get no reaction other than internal rage at my inability to wipe it off the DVR schedule.
(Truth be told, even the most recent 2012/13 seasons had ONE good episode).
I remember the first time the Nightman episode aired, Hoang and I watched it and pretty much thought it was the funniest thing either of us had seen in a long, long time. Charlie and Dennis acted it out perfectly. The paint huffing. Dennis’s earnest search for the perfect Dayman foil to the Nightman’s homoerotic nightmare scenarios. Karate!
And friendship for everyone!
So while naming a beer after a show that is most certainly on the wane seems a little odd to me, the show does still hold a special place in my TV memories. And they are Eagles fans (like me), so I can’t hate on them too much.
This low gravity IPA is small but fierce. Crisp and piney.
It’s odd to be living through this period of IPA dominance. Recent visits to WilliBrew have shown me what one master brewer can do with one style – that is, brew the crap out of it. WilliBrew is not afraid to have 5 different IPA’s on draught at the same time.
CHB is a little more conservative with their offerings and I’ve come to enjoy their pluck. I’ve mentioned before how much I appreciate their low ABV session beers that they put on every now and then. They seem to do them really, really well.
And since I often speed through Granby and Bloomfield to get home after a quick visit to CHB, low ABV will be even more appreciated when I get my next speeding ticket.
I really liked this little IPA. It’s a little thin, but at 3.6% ABV, that’s fine. The flavors were there – and it didn’t taste like a crappy adjunct beer with hops thrown in, it tasted like a real IPA with depth of hop and pine and resin flavor.
Dayman won the battle with this beer, no doubt. Eat it Nightman. Stick it in your mouth and eat it.
