Litchfield Hills Audubon Society Trails
If anyone follows the Audubon Society in Connecticut and understands the confusing taxonomy of it all, I feel your pain. It’s very confusing. I won’t get into it now, but I did try to sort it out here.
As for now, let’s just concentrate on the Litchfield Hills chapter.
The Litchfield Hills Audubon Society (LHAS), was chartered in 1955 as a local Connecticut chapter of the National Audubon Society, a non-profit organization serving Litchfield County and surrounding areas.
While that’s certainly true, they currently (2018) “only” manage three trail networks; two in Litchfield itself, and one just over the town line in Harwinton. As you’d guess, I aim to hike them all.
