The Woodstock Fair is one of the bigger ones in the state – and has the honor of being held over Labor Day weekend every year. It has a long (and interesting) history, which you can read all about here.
Damian’s got the map. Hoang’s got that dang green bag (now retired) that has appeared in more CTMQ posts than I have. Let’s go!
Okay. That’s a little weird…
… So are “wax hands.” I looked it up. You dip your hands in wax and then get wax hands. Who does this? Let’s go look at the rides
Um, no. Look closely at the top left. A worker is fixing this ride. Nothing to see here.
It was a right lovely day in Woodstock, with plenty of tractors to enjoy
But some tractors seemed to be enjoying us. Creepy.
But not as creepy as life-sized pioneer women dolls. Aahahhhahhhh!
There are lots of cool old cars at the Woodstock Fair
Some are Triumphs of engineering…
Others, not so much
You’re not having a good time until you see an old lawnmower
Or a giant Batman Villain saw
What could these two be looking at?
Oh, just some baritone lady
Connecticut’s fairs attract people from as far away as … let’s say… Texas?
There is a museum here at the Brunn Barn complex.
Not part of the museum, but supposedly the world’s largest gun safe. Which is stupid.
And speaking of World’s Best, yup, the sundaes made it to Woodstock too. We didn’t have any, but let’s look at some of the fair food we dared to try.
Everyone enjoyed their greasy German Fries. I decided to step it up a notch though.
Everyone’s had French fries, we had had German Fries… Now it was time for Australian fries…
One of the worst things I’ve ever attempted to eat in my life. Just inhuman. Some potato deep fried in some deep fried batter and grease.
I’ve had heartburn twice in my life. One after downing two Mike’s Hard Lemonades in like 6 minutes before a wedding and almost immediately after eating some of these Australian fries. Just a horrorshow.
Speaking of horrorshow, welcome to ‘Merica! MMmmmm, “Twinking eating!”
What are these two clowns looking at now?
Yeah, ok. That looks pretty cool.
Is this empowering or infuriating?
That is all.
