North Branford Potato and Corn Festival

Attended: Saturday Afternoon
Parking: $5
Distance to Fair: 6 minute walk from dusty lot

Here it is in all its glory


Anthropomorphizing food always bothers me.


Look closely. Look at those fingernails. Sorry North Branfrodites, this is how I’ll remember you.


“Dear baby Jesus, thank you for this food and please don’t let that woman with the nails touch me.”


Cornac says, with a kernel of truth, “A corny triple pun with antiquated cultural reference…”


Between you and me, the corn was just ok. If you want the best corn you’ll ever have, go to the annual Farmer’s Cow event at Cushman Farm in Franklin. We did.


This was fun. A guy in a terrible potato “costume” stands in a circle and everyone pays a buck to roll a potato at him. If yours stops in the circle, you win something. I enjoyed this.
