52 With a View

52 With a View
New Hampshire

September 2017 –

Because I don’t have enough peakbagging/hiking lists to complete, I thought I’d add another one. The 52 With a View (“52WAV”) is a list of sub-4,000 foot New Hampshire peaks created by some group called The Over the Hill Hikers up in the Granite State. The idea is that once a hiker is “over the hill,” he or she needs an easier peakbagging list – easier than the more well-known NH48, NE67, NEHH, and/or the NE111 – that provide “good views.”

Calvin and I on the summit of Mt.Monadnock, September 2017

I’m not over the hill (yet), but I have an under the hiller. As I write this in September 2017, my son Calvin is six. He’s note quite ready for The ADK46 or the CAT35 or many peaks on the aforementioned lists either. I’d been planning/wanting to hike Monadnock with Calvin for a while… and now we’ve done it.

And he loved it!

Which is why I’m putting this page together. I’ve already hiked a few of these, but not too many. Regardless, as with all peakbagging lists, I begin anew with the publishing of this page.

This is the best photo of the completion patch I could find.
