Baby Green Monster
Riverton Little League Field, Barkhamsted
I can find nothing online about this, but I thought it was just the cutest thing. I’m not a Red Sox fan – heck, I’ve never even watched a full baseball game in my life – but I can appreciate what some fan/dad has done here in the beautiful Riverton section of Barkhamsted.
The famous Citgo sign that has loomed over Fenway Park’s Green Monster in Boston since 1965 has been replicated here deep in the northern Connecticut forest. In a town known for its fly fishing and woodsy roads and trails, someone has created a cool little tribute to Fenway.
Never mind that its providing Citgo surely free advertising to the dozens of little league parents that come up here to watch kids play baseball.
I just thought it was pretty cool.
