Salem’s Town Trails

The coolest “outdoorsy” thing in Salem is Minnie Island State Park. It’s the size of a large backyard and is shared evenly with Montville. Oh, and it really is an island in a lake. There’s nothing on it but trees. And it really is a state park. It rules. In other words, the town of Salem doesn’t oversee too many trailed properties and the one I know truly exists appears in print with three different names and is a true “trail to nowhere.” Oh, Salem.

But you know what? I revel in stuff like this. What will I learn that I didn’t expect here? What weird Salem story will I have to tell? Oh piffle, who am I kidding, the Salem Town/Nature/Multi-Purpose Trail is literally next door to Fox Farm Brewery so it’s already one of the best trails in New England.
