Granby’s Town Trails

Granby’s Town Trails

You’d think that these intro pages would be easy for me to compile by now. And for the most part, they are. But every so often, I run into impossibilities.

Granby presents some impossibilities.

Holcomb Farm Trails

I blame one Mr. George P. McLean. The former Attorney General, Governor, Senator owned the tract of land and created a trust to keep it maintained – and private. Granby does not own it, but it owns some land around it. So does the Granby Land Trust and the Simsbury Land Trust.

The McLean Game Refuge – which is actually a refuge for game, as there is no hunting there – is beautiful, but retains a bunch of antiquated rules from McLean’s day. But you don’t care about that, but while we’re at it, Holcomb Farm (which connects to McLean) is only “sort of” owned by Granby. But I’m sticking it here too.
